The Stuff Doesn't Matter: Technology and Design
Participants will learn about the Design Cycle of the IB's Middle Years Program, a process that asks students to create solutions to meaningful issues, inside a looser definition of technology that could include computer-based technology, design technology, cooking, or anything that asks students to work within a cycle of investigating, designing, planning, creating, and evaluating. Though the cycle is specific to a certain curriculum, the ideas behind them are relevant to any curriculum and any subject area.
Conversational Practice
Participants will divide into groups to design solutions to assigned problems, and will get a remote how-to from students well-versed in designing and iterating.
