Bringing the world into the classroom
What is design thinking? What is the studio model? How do they relate to multidisciplinary collaborative projects? This workshop will engage participants in a discussion about how design thinking elements and the studio model can lead to students' higher interest and and hands-on approach to multidisciplinary projects. Participants will learn about Beaver Country Day School' s innovative approach to working on real-world, authentic assessments. Participants will also be invited to comment and share ideas about these projects and to create their own projects using design thinking elements. Participants should bring ideas of projects on which they would like to work.
Conversational Practice
We plan on presenting our main ideas and examples on design thinking and collaborative projects, and then allow participants to join www.spiderscribe.net or www.padlet.com to share their ideas and how to apply them in their respective schools.
